New Research: Buprenorphine Superior to Methadone in Treating Infants Born in Drug Withdrawal

This study, to be published in the Journal of Pediatrics, is the first reported study of buprenorphine being used to treat newborns in clinical practice. Buprenorphine and methadone were compared and buprenorphine came out on top in reducing length of stay and duration of treatment.
