NC State Senate Leaders Support Opioid Antidote Bill

A Senate panel unanimously passed Senate Bill 734 allowing for a statewide standing order for the opioid antagonist naloxone. If passed, a person with substance use disorder, family member or caretaker could go to any pharmacy and use a prescription under the name of Dr. Randall Williams. The bill will be heard next in Senate Judiciary 1.
