Drug Court vs. LEAD: What Is The Difference?

This article, written by Tessie Castillo, Advocacy and Communications Coordinator for the North Carolina Harm Reduction Coalition explains some of the differences between the more common and better-known drug court program and the newer diversion program called Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD). The programs may be able to work in tandem to divert people from the criminal justice system into rehabilitation programs.
