SA4DOCS is an online resource linking interested physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers with each other and with relevant and timely substance abuse related information, resources, and educational materials.

Research on the neurophysiology of addiction, pharmacologic adjuncts and clinical interventions has expanded the knowledge base and available therapeutic alternatives for substance abuse dramatically in recent years. At the same time, clinicians and the public are more aware that substance misuse, abuse and addiction are serious public health concerns. These areas can all be clinically challenging but there is a wealth of resources and expertise available nationally and within the North Carolina medical community. This website seeks to draw upon those resources.

This website is a collaborative effort between the Governor’s Institute on Substance Abuse, Inc. and the North Carolina Society of Addiction Medicine.

A Project of the Governor's Institute on Alcohol & Substance Abuse and the North Carolina Society of Addiction Medicine.
Funded wholly or in part by the federal Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant Fund (CFDA #93.959) as a project of the NC Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities & Substance Abuse Services.
